Brain Mri Finding of Partial Seizure in Children

Abstract

Fifty-four children(14months to 17years old) with a clinical diagnosis of partial seizure were examined with a 0.5T MRI Scanner using spino-echo sequences. Twenty-nine patients(53.7%) showed abnormal brain MRI findings : focal atrophy was most
frequent
abnormal finding. MRI were abnormal in 62.5% of the patients in whom partial seizure evolving to generalized tonic-clonic seizure. MRI were abnormal in 53.8% and 75.0% of the patients in whom scalp EEG showed focal intericatal discharges in
temporal
area and frontal area.
